After two postponements, the Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter was finally able to complete their Day of Service by assisting at Valor Ranch in Decatur, TX on Jan. 18, 2025. Valor Ranch is a 10-acre complex designed as a retreat for women veterans who are having a hard time transitioning from the military.
It has four little houses for veterans in need and they can stay for up to a year, rent free. They also have a hydroponics garden, equestrian area and other ranch activities.
They are in the process of adding a fifth house and chapter members cleared out space in the barn to store the materials in preparation for construction. Valor Ranch is also building a new facility to combine the fish tank house and hydroponics garden into one larger building.
Members cleared out the old fish tank house in preparation for it’s demolition. The chapter members enjoyed the day of service and plan on doing future events at the ranch.
More information on Valor Ranch is available at valorranchtx.org.
