Today, November 29, 2022, people around the world will come together to participate in a global day of giving – called GivingTuesday . . .
This year, we ask that you join us to ensure that children of America’s Reserve Forces are supported when their loved ones are deployed at home or abroad by giving to the ROA STARs in Schools – School Kit Program.
In fact, we have set a goal to raise $5,000 in just 24 hours! Thanks to supporters like you, we believe this is possible.
Will you help us?
When called to duty, members of the Reserve and National Guard, our citizen-warriors, put their civilian lives on hold. Most reside outside of a military base and work for civilian employers. Of the 1.2 million school-age children of our nation’s service members, most (more than 80%) attend public schools.
Although many of these schools are near military installations, many more are not. In fact, 625,000 children of Reserve and National Guard members attend schools located in areas with no military installations or supporting organizations nearby. The schools that serve these children have a sincere desire to help, but necessary support is not always available.
This is where the ROA STARs in Schools Program comes in!
We provide resources for educators, school staff, and parents to help them better understand the unique needs of military children with deployed parents.
How can I support my Reserve & Guard Families?
