The Air Force recently announced the Continuation Pay rates under the new Blended Retirement System which “… is a way to encourage Airmen covered by BRS to remain in the Air Force since it will be possible to leave with some retirement benefit prior to 20 years of service.” The Reserve Component rate is lower then the active duty rate because the National Guard and Reserve have a higher reenlistment rate.
