Medal of Honor recipient, U.S. Army Reservist honored during Heroes Parade

ROA’s Tennessee-Chattanooga Chapter honored Medal of Honor Society inductee Capt. Larry Taylor, U.S. Army Reserve and his wife Toni during a parade on Sept. 11, 2023.

The Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center
(Heritage Center) worked with Hamilton County, the City of Chattanooga
and the Chattanooga Area Veterans Council to hold a special Patriot Day and “Welcome Home” Parade.

Life members Lt. Col. Scott Harden and Cols. John and Judi Davenport represented ROA and the Dept of Tennessee in the parade.

“This was quite an honor and richly deserving for the heroism of Captain Taylor in Vietnam and a local Chattanoogan,” said Judi Davenport.

The medal was awarded to Taylor on Sept. 5, 2023 at the White House, making him the sixth recipient from the greater Chattanooga area.

His story and a replica of his Cobra helicopter will be on permanent display at the Charles Coolidge Medal of Honor Heritage Center in Chattanooga.
